Antique Red English Transferware: Old Britain Castles

This is the Old Britain Castles china pattern made by Johnson Bros and it's one of my
favorite china patterns. It was produced in a few different colors such as brown, lavender/eggplant, and this red. Some folks refer to it as pink, but it looks more
red to me so I call it red.

Peek Inside My Studio: Broken China Statement Necklace

Take a peek inside my studio...

I love Flow Blue china, and I love Art Nouveau, so I was thrilled when I came across
a few of these age-damaged plates a few years ago. I knew they would be perfect to
turn into some beautiful jewelry.

Because the floral motif pattern on this china dinner plate is large, I knew it would be
best suited to be made into a larger piece of jewelry - so I made this large statement
necklace. The shorter chain allows the necklace to sit right at the base of the throat,
and it is an eye-catching piece for sure!

I had the three huge tear-shaped pearls set aside for a while, just waiting
for the perfect design to come along. After I made the china part of this necklace I
knew right away that this was going to be their home. I love the way it turned out!

My Last Batch Of Broken China Jewelry For 2013!

It's almost hard to believe that today is New Year's Eve! I think the older I get
the faster the years go by! But the new year always gets me inspired to be
productive, to make more jewelry and especially to try out new ideas and
techniques, so I am looking forward to 2014 both as a fresh start and also
creatively! Here is my last batch of broken china jewelry for 2013, I listed all
of these pieces in my Etsy shop last evening. I hope you like them!
