Flea Market Sunday {Long Beach}

We spent the better part of yesterday at the flea market in Long Beach.  Our intention was to find a new dining table and chairs for my little sister, we were partially successful and managed to pick up a lot of amazing pieces along the way.  It turned out to be a beautiful and very busy day....

I wanted this little sofa pretty bad but without a specific location and a high price I had to pass it up sadly... sometimes that's how it goes, the shape was so sweet.

I have to believe that there is a little something for everyone at the flea market...honeycombs- fur letters whatever you might need.

I picked up this little vintage vest... we always take pictures of one another when we cannot find a mirror to look in, just to be sure.

I completely loved the display @junkstyle put together- so so cute!

Pillows and gold..

Blankets and rugs everywhere.

This piece is perfect inspiration for a project that I am starting to design.

The boys always get it right...

More bags than I knew what to do with.

Meet my new dream, the duffel is on my list.

My sister's new table is amazing..

And then we relaxed... pretty much perfect.

Thanksgivnig centerpiece..

Decorating the table for Thanksgiving dinner is always one of my favorite things... I worked on planning ahead this year but I changed my mind when the time came.  We have an early dinner for our family each year, this year was one of the largest dinners I have hosted.  With 17 people to feed and seat I took a little extra time once the turkey was in the oven to work on the tables.

I had a simple idea which included the votives that I collected last year and some little pumpkins I had around the house for decoration, and it evolved into this fun centerpiece with feathers, antlers and dried magnolia mixed with fresh greenery from the neighbors trees.  My mom is the best at this kind of thing so while she was here we worked on adding to it and making something I loved,  that was low enough to not inhibit the conversation at dinner.  The little faux candles make it so I can socialize and have the table completely ready as the sun sets with out worrying about burning down the house or forgetting to light the candles.

brocante shopping in Normandie...

I know I have been promising to share more of our shopping adventures in France... so here we go.  We shopped in Paris for the first part of the week and then came to shop with Sharon from My French Country Home in Normandie.  It was a whirl wind visit once again with many hours spent shopping and loading and unloading of goodies..  This was one of our fist stops, I will be sharing more over the next few weeks leading up to our sale in September.

Now that our container has arrived and we have begun to sort and clean things it has become a reality and we have set the date for our sale which will include many of the pieces we found while in France as well as some additional treasures from here and there.

Normandie weather was a little grumpy while we were there with rain almost everyday at some point.
But the fields were beautiful and there was yellow everywhere we went.

This sweet little shop we visited the first afternoon after arriving from Paris.  She had a wonderful chicken farm out back that I was dying over!  Her shop was full of sweet whimsical little creatures and beautiful treasure, as well as a little tea shop in the back.  We warmed up with tea and treats before setting off to our next destination.

These furniture pieces were so cool.  They are vintage pieces re-purposed for outdoor use.   Looking back I wish I had bought a few.

I did pick up this sweet little set, cannot wait to unwrap it!

Flea Market Sunday...

Sunday was a very very busy day!!  I hit the flea market in the morning only to find these sweet things!!  I am a sucker for LV and vintage pieces make my head spin a little!! She had a great selection and some Chanel pieces that made my heart skip a beat, unfortunately a little out of my budget! All in all it was a pretty good day- there were a few things on my wish list as always that I did not find but I got some fun pieces non the less.

It was gloomy all morning but that kept things a little more relaxed for the shopping.  I completely loved this space the lighting and furniture where fantastic!

He hand makes the lights by adding in the mirror on each piece.  LOVE!

I bought a pair of these for inside our cabana.  I cannot wait for it to be complete so we can decorate and actually use it!

I have completely fallen for these jeans from Gap that I picked up on Friday!

After the flea market I stopped at the nursery quickly and fell in love with this hydrangea, I have a weakness for these too!

These are two ladies that had to come home with me..  The little vintage bag is snakeskin and so so cute.
