greige and gold...

I know we have all seen this beautiful Parisian apartment by Gilles et Boissier over and over... but when I saw this image in isolation I fell in love all over again!  I love the simple clean lines mixed with the details of the doors, walls and the mirrors.  The dark wood.  The white sofa.  The greige rug.

contrasts..

 

I find that contrast is so necessary in a space, it doesn't have to be as obvious as this, which I love, but it can be simple and textural as well.  This combination is beautiful and interesting, the antlers make it for me.

Black Paneling

 
I love the impact the black makes in this space, an amazingly clean and simple backdrop for the wood detailing in the furnishings.  Just perfect.  I am also a sucker for hidden doors and the continuation of color onto the floors.  Could you handle the drama of black in your home?
