design daydream {restaurant design}

As a designer there is always something you would like to try your hand at, something that pulls at your creative strings..  right now mine is restaurant design.  I day dream about it and all of the fun creative things you could do.  Unique interesting conversation pieces that will make a space memorable along with the food and friends.  I love this space and the little details...

Decorating With Home Depot Industrial Supply: Unexpected Style

Recently I was visiting the Home Depot website, looking to buy two new shelves for my workshop to store my dishes on. I have tons of dishes, and believe me, once people find out that you make jewelry and artwork from old broken china plates, cups, and saucers, the donations start pouring in, and the china starts piling up. Storage can be a problem!

I had bought two industrial storage shelving units at Home Depot a few years ago, and I
was just checking to see if they still sold the same type I had bought there before because
I've always liked them, and now I needed two more. While on their website, I clicked on the cabinet shelves section on a whim, just to see what they had to offer, and this yellow steel cabinet immediately caught my eye! Check out these Industrial decor inspirations and maybe you'll be inspired too!

Found at Home Depot: This yellow metal cabinet provides a bright pop of color!
What a great way to add a burst of life to a steely neutral Industrial color scheme!
Check out these other pop-of-yellow inspirations:

Found at Home Depot: There's no denying that a pop of bright red makes a statement!
This red fire cabinet with its yellow decal caught my eye right away.
Here are some other red industrial inspirations:

Found at Home Depot: I love the futuristic yet retro look of this 24" by 36"
 steel cabinet and right away I thought nightstand or bedside table. All steel construction!

Remanants of the Past 2012 {#2}

Rusty Clover was one of my favorite booths at the show, I purchased the most amazing vintage mirror from them for my collage.  Their booth was full of all kinds of goodies, something for just about everyone.

Another favorite was Melissa Blue, her display was beyond amazing.  It makes me wish I could live in a place piled high with vintage and no need to use anything.  I think by far one of the best styled booths I have seen in a long time.

 It is always great to see Blue Canoe, they are a husband and wife team that do the most amazing job collecting fantastic pieces from all around.  I was excited to see that they had the Olive buckets too!

My newest favorite is House Wren!  I fell for the re-purposed lighting and furnishings.  I picked up a couple of fixtures for a project that I am working on.  They are so perfect I cannot wait to see them in the space.  The styling in their space was so well done and the great mix of industrial and natural pieces was perfect.

I hope you enjoyed a little peek at the fall Remnants of the Past show.  I had a great time at the show and only wish I could have spent more time!
