Peonies

We went out this morning and clipped a bouquet of peonies. 

Somewhere, I must have written down the variety... but can't remember where. 

The babies are present with every photograph I take now. Sometimes just ever so slightly out of frame...

...so slightly that a stray foot may appear as I lean in between them to take the picture.

We walked around the yard before we clipped our bouquet and enjoyed the warm summer morning.  

This peony has been blooming for several days. It's always bittersweet to take the blossoms from the garden to enjoy indoors. 

As you can see, the peony is the only thing blooming in the front bed right now. 

Here are my helpers. In the background, another peony (a bright fuscia) is in bloom.
